Part of the Vivian L. Tettamanti Square line of jewelry, these delicate earrings boast a smooth square Spondylus stone (5 x 5 mm) set in a lustrous silver bezel. Spondylus is found on the coast of the Pacific Ocean and is one of the most valued stones in Ecuador. There are two groups of artisans involved in the work of these exquisite pieces: the Salinas Beach fishermen who collect the spondylus shell and carefully cut and polish it to get the stone; and the silversmith from the coastal port of Guayaquil, Ecuador. Due to the nature of the stone, its color may vary from light orange to reddish brown.
