Hand-knotted in one of the most important cities in the history of rug weaving, this spectacular Persian Hamadan rug brings elegance to your home.
Hamadan is not only one of the oldest cities in Iran, it is also one of civilization's most ancient urban centers. Its origin dates back to several centuries before Christ. In the Hamadan region, 1500 villages specialize in their own designs, creating over 3000 variations. The rug owes its durability to the luxurious looking, yet rugged pile, hand-spun from the wool of hardy sheep raised at high mountain altitudes and cool climate. This rug boasts rich colors in red, camel, beige, green and black.
Slight variation in the color, design and size in each piece is normal in handmade rugs. Due to the difference of monitor colors, some rug colors may vary slightly. Overstock.com tries to represent all rug colors accurately. Please refer to the text above for a description of the colors shown in the photo. All rug sizes are approximate.
