The handle arches 4.5 inches above the trapezoidal bag and is covered with rows of round black beads. A magnetic snap closure completes the piece. Choose from colors in light copper and black, or Pot Pourri and Black. Each bag has a round beaded handle, approximately 7 inches long. Beaded by hand using a minimal amount of machine assembly, these bags are made in community organizations in the rural areas of the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. These organizations teach skills to uneducated and unemployed men and women. Through this work, women are made aware of the need to be independent and self-occupied, and these skills help them to move toward financial security.
