Noble Roman was actually crafted to be an everyday kind of wine. Mario Belardino and Umberto Cesari wanted to make a wine that was approachable, easy to drink, and a good value. It took them two years to find the right vineyards that would give them just the right combination of taste, texture, smoothness, and flavor they were looking for.
They finally found the perfect combination of grape (Sangiovese) and land in the Rubicone appellation located in Emilia Romagna south of Bologna. Sangiovese, the main grape in Chianti, is beginning to be recognized on its own. It's about time, because it makes some delicious wines outside of Chianti!
